FAQS
What Areas Can Be Treated? BBL can treat any area of your body. However, treatment of the face, neck, hands, shoulders and chest are the most popular areas due to being more exposed to the suns damaging rays.
How Many Treatments Do I Need? Most patients see big results with 2 to 5 treatments over a 5 to 8 month period. Treatments should be done in 4 to 8 weeks intervals to produce the desired results. Depending on the severity of your particular case, additional treatments may be necessary.
How Long Does It Take To Recover? Being a non-invasive procedure, there is virtually no down time associated with the Sciton BBL treatments. Most patients are able to return to work the next day after having the procedure. We will provide detailed instructions to ensure the fastest recovery time possible. Specific skin care products may be given to minimize the risk of redness or inflammation. After treatment, avoid UV sunlight until the treated areas are fully healed. If in direct sunlight, make sure sunscreen is used.
What Happens During The Procedure? During the procedure safety glasses will be provided to protect your eyes. A warm sensation is felt briefly in the targeted areas as the skin absorbs the light. The length of time depends on the size of the treated areas, while most treatments are done within a half hour. We will assess your specific situation and estimated time frame during your personal consultation.
What To Expect After Treatment? •After having the procedure, the area treated may be red and could potentially last 3 to 5 days. This depends on your specific skin condition. Mineral makeup is recommended if you wish to conceal any redness that is experienced after treatment.
•24 to 48 hours after the treatment, patients may experience a mild sunburn feeling in the treated areas. If this happens, apply cold compresses to the treated areas to relieve those sensations. Aloe Vera may also be applied to the treated areas.
